EPA effluent guideline: Environmental Protection Agency will hold a public hearing July 13 on proposed pretreatment standards and effluent limitations guidelines that will apply to the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, according to a July 7 Federal Register notice. The hearing will begin at 9 a.m. at the U.S. Geological Survey National Center Auditorium in Reston, Va. EPA also extended the comment period on the proposed standards from the end of July to Aug. 30. The agency estimates the annual cost of the guidelines to the pharmaceutical industry at $80 mil.
