Executive Summary

Beta Complex Acne Treatment with 1% salicylic acid "penetrates the pores to effectively treat and prevent acne, blackheads and whiteheads," the Erno Laszlo division of Elizabeth Arden states. The product, which also contains silica, a light oil-absorbing powder, is said to comply with the FDA monograph for OTC acne products and is positioned as "the first all-over facial acne treatment with OTC drug status in the prestige market." Erno Laszlo is not planning to advertise Beta Complex, which will be available Sept. 2. During the launch, the firm will offer a promotion of a full-size facila cleansing soap free with the purchase of Beta Complex. "Deluxe" sampling will begin in 1995. A 2 oz. pump of Beta Complex is a suggested $65
