Executive Summary

Publishes policy statement for comment in the Sept. 1 Federal Register on the duration of future and existing administrative and federal district court cease and desist orders in competition matters and consumer protection matters. The policy, which became effective in July, states that core injunctive provisions in future competition orders should terminate automatically after 20 years and that supplemental provisions terminate after no more than 10 years. FTC is accepting comments until Nov. 4
