HAIRSPRAY VOCS LIMITED TO 80% BY WEIGHT UNDER OREGON DRAFT REGULATION that outlines maximum volatile organic compound (VOC) by-weight levels in consumer products available in the Portland area. Under the Oct. 31 draft, Oregon's Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) also presented VOC limits on eight other personal care products. VOC content for hair mousse would be limited to 16% by weight, and hair styling gels would be restricted to 6% VOCs. Nail polish removers could contain up to 75% VOCs by weight, and shaving cream, 5%.
