The semi-permanent color foam mousse is designed for young, first-time hair color users and women who are not concerned about gray hair coverage, L'Oreal said. The product is currently shipping and will be available nationally in 25,000 drug, food and mass market doors in the spring. Exuberance is the Cosmair division's second semi-permanent hair color; its first, Avantage, is designed to "gently cover gray" and "revitalize" natural hair color, L'Oreal stated.

ModiFace launches forecasting tool: Toronto-based virtual makeover firm introduces ShadeCast, a makeup sampling and forecasting tool based on behavioral tracking. ShadeCast is used in conjunction with iPhone application MakeUp, which allows consumers to virtually try on makeup in hundreds of shades from brands including Revlon, Cover Girl, Lancome and Clinique. ShadeCast offers 1,000 cosmetic shades from 40 brands and assigns a ShadeScore "to approximately position the [app's] hottest and most sampled color."
