Regular sunscreen use can reduce precancerous tumor formation, study says.

This article was originally published in The Rose Sheet

Executive Summary

REGULAR SUNSCREEN USE CAN REDUCE PRECANCEROUS TUMOR FORMATION, Mark Naylor, MD, et al. noted in a study published in the February issue of Archives of Dermatology. "The regular use of sunscreens can significantly reduce cutaneous neoplasia, as indicated by its suppression of precancerous lesions," the researchers concluded, adding, however, that there was a need for a longer and/or larger study to "demonstrate an effect on malignant lesions."
