Executive Summary
FDA SHELVES COSMETICS ADVERSE REACTION HOTLINE after the Office of Management and Budget objected to the paperwork requirements. FDA indicated it will no longer pursue the establishment of a toll-free number for consumers to report cosmetic adverse reactions as outlined in the Nov. 10, 1994 Federal Register ("The Rose Sheet" Nov. 14, p. 1), but will continue to look at other ways to receive reports from consumers about cosmetic products.
