HELENE CURTIS FY 1996 SALES EXPECTED TO BE FLAT TO "SLIGHTLY" UP over the previous year, the company predicted in a Jan. 8 release. Helene Curtis President and CEO Ronald Gidwitz explained that the company is expecting a "very strong" fourth quarter, which would offset sales declines in the first nine months and result in level to slightly increased sales for the end of the year.
