PARLUX ADDING BAL þ VERSAILLES TO FRAGRANCE PORTFOLIO as part of its "aggressive strategy of acquiring companies and products with...strong brand recognition and global expansion opportunities," Parlux Fragrances Chairman and CEO Ilia Lekach said. The firm announced Jan. 15 that it had signed a letter of intent to acquire the trademarks of Parfums Jean Desprez Paris, which include the marks for the Bal a Versailles and Revolution a Versailles fragrances, from Jean Philippe Fragrances. The firms would not reveal the intended purchase price but did indicate that it is "very much in line" with the $3.7 mil. Jean Philippe paid for Parfums Jean Desprez Paris in 1994 ("The Rose Sheet" Aug. 8, 1994, p. 3).
