L'OREAL/MAYBELLINE COMBINED SHARE OF EYE MAKEUP MARKET WOULD APPROACH 50% on a dollar basis in mass, drug and food outlets, according to data from Chicago-based Information Resources, Inc. Currently, Maybelline holds the largest portion of the $647.7 mil. U.S. mass eye makeup market, with sales of $214.5 mil. in 1995. The L'Oreal brand is in third place, with sales of $81.8 mil.
