CHATTEM ACQUISITION OF ORAL CARE LINE FOR $5.5 MIL. is expected to close on or about June 5, the Chattanooga, Tenn.-based firm announced May 24. The purchase agreement includes inventory and receivables and involves a 5% royalty for seven years. Chattem declined to identify the brand or the seller, noting that "further details regarding the acquired brand cannot be revealed until closing pursuant to an agreement with the seller." Chattem does not currently own any oral care brands.
