DONNA KARAN FIRST QUARTER BEAUTY SALES JUMP 39.5%, or $1.3 mil., from the year-ago period, primarily due to "the expanded product offering in 1996 compared to 1995," according to an amended initial public offering prospectus filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission May 28. The fashion company's beauty portfolio comprises the Donna Karan New York collection of women's fragrances and bath and body products, Bath & Body Mist women's scent, and two men's scents -- DK Men (with auxiliary products) and Unleaded, a lighter version of DK Men.
