Executive Summary

PCA, SODIUM PCA TENTATIVELY DETERMINED "SAFE AS USED" IN COSMETICS by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Expert Panel June 4. The panel unanimously approved a tentative final report on the ingredients concluding that PCA and sodium PCA are safe under current conditions of cosmetics use. The two skin and hair conditioning agents were listed in 25 and 437 formulations, respectively, in 1996, according to FDA.
