Time Out, Sears' second personal care collection, is targeted at women "living in the 90s" who prefer more time in their lives than extra money in their pockets, Sears said. The company is positioning the products as a "promise that insists that a woman indulge her need for Time Out." The retailer launched its first brand -- Circle of Beauty skin care, cosmetics and fragrance products -- into stand-alone, in-store Circle of Beauty boutiques in October 1995 ("The Rose Sheet" Sept. 11, 1995, Marketing In Brief). The Circle of Beauty line-up includes Skinplicity skin care products, Colorworks color cosmetics, Living Pleasures bath products and home fragrances and Being You aromatherapy line. Circle of Beauty also markets four women's fragrances and two men's scents. The Time Out bath and body collection will be sold through "assisted self-service" displays located apart from the Circle of Beauty boutiques. The displays are reminiscent of a bathroom with "inviting" walls of glass shelves and, in some doors, sinks and shower fixtures. Time Out includes four "sub-brands" -- Peaceful Moments, Romantic Interlude, Energy and Tropical Escape. Each sub-brand has three fragrances. Peaceful Moments includes the scents Hush of Honeysuckle, Whisper of Lilac and Fields of Angelica; Romantic Interlude features Forbidden Freesia, Jasmine Seduction and Blush of Vanilla fragrances; the Energy products are available in Herbal Renewal, Refreshing Rain and Apple Vibration scents; and the Tropical Escape collection includes Luscious Berry, Peach Indulgence and Mango Ambrosia. The Time Out line ranges in price from $2.50 to $15 at retail. Of the key items, the 8 oz. body lotion, 8 oz. shower gel and 8 oz. bubble bath will be priced at $8.50, $7.50 and $6.50, respectively. The 8 oz. body cream and 8 oz. body mist will cost $9.50 each. |
