REVLON BRAND U.S. RETAIL SALES UP 31% IN THIRD QUARTER, remaining the number one mass market color cosmetics brand, while Almay sales climbed 17% during the three-month period, Revlon reported Oct. 29. Revlon-branded cosmetics controlled 21.8% of the U.S. mass cosmetics market, according to A.C. Nielsen data, compared to 19.3% in the same quarter a year ago. Additionally, the U.S. mass cosmetics market is up approximately 15% through the nine months of 1996 compared to the year-earlier period, the market data company said.
