L'Oreal, S.A.: Signs definitive agreement with Dermtek Pharmaceuticals (Dorval, Quebec) to buy the Ombrelle sun care brand for an undisclosed cash sum, L'Oreal announced Oct. 27. The number-two sunscreen brand in Canada, according to L'Oreal, is available in SPF 15 and SPF 30 formulations and contains the active ingredient Parsol 1789. Ombrelle will give L'Oreal's North American marketing arm, Cosmair, the "opportunity to participate in the large and growing suncare market...and to work directly with the dermatologic medical profession," according to the firm.
