The shaving systems were among the "best performing products" for the year in Warner-Lambert's Consumer Healthcare business, and partially offset the unit's 4% sales decline to $2.7 bil. In the U.S., consumer health care sales increased 1% to $1.4 bil. In foreign markets, sales slipped 8% to $1.3 bil. At constant exchange rates, international sales would have been down 1%. Consolidated Warner-Lambert sales rose 13.1% to $2.33 bil. in 1997. Net income climbed 10.6% to $869.5 mil.
