VAGINAL DOUCHE VOLUNTARY INDUSTRY LABELING PROGRAM is expected to have full compliance by December, the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association and the Nonprescription Drug Manufacturers Association tell FDA in Feb. 17 comments. While Dec. 31, 1999 is the formal compliance deadline for the program, which includes label references to reports linking douching to pelvic inflammatory disease and other health problems, the groups note, "in fact, members are currently in voluntary compliance with many elements of the program."
