Executive Summary

Boucheron acquires U.S. distribution rights to designer's signature fragrance from Perfumer's Workshop, which continues to handle the scent in France. Sonia Rykiel bowed in European markets last fall ("The Rose Sheet" Dec. 2, 1996, p. 1). Boucheron's first U.S. activity will be the fragrance's launch at 22 Bloomingdale's on March 29. The fruity, floral, semi-Oriental has notes of black currant and mandarin, lily of the valley and crystallized violets. The drydown is a medley of woodsy notes and cinnamon, vanilla and caramel. The peach-colored bottle is shaped like a turtleneck, reminiscent of Rykiel's "clingy pullover" sweaters designs. Red- orange cartons are lined with black and white stripes.
