FDA COMMISSIONER CONFIRMATION VOTE NOT EXPECTED BEFORE WEEK OF SEPT. 14, following the confirmation hearing for University of New Mexico VP-Health Sciences Jane Henney, MD, held by the Senate Labor & Human Resources Committee Sept. 2. Following the hearing, committee Chairman James Jeffords (R-Vt.) will gather follow-up questions from committee members and forward them to Henney for responses. The Administration's choice for FDA commissioner replied to a 140-item pre-hearing questionnaire Aug. 24 ("The Rose Sheet" Aug. 31, In Brief).
