Issima Success Day Smoothing Anti-Wrinkle Day Care "reduces the appearance of wrinkles by helping to optimize the interlayer adhesion in the skin," according to the company. Bowing in November, Day Care serves as a counterpart to Success Night Firming Anti-Wrinkle Night Care, which debuted in 1996. The day cream imparts "elasticity and suppleness" within two weeks and visibly reduces wrinkles within four weeks, Guerlain claims. The SPF 6 formula contains extract of tormentil and magnesium aspartate to assist the skin in bonding the epidermis and dermis, thereby preventing skin slackening, according to Guerlain. The product also contains vitamin E acetate to fight free radicals, as well as hyaluronic acid, algesium C, polyols and lactic acid for moisturization benefits. Extract of perilla, a Chinese botanical softens skin. A 1.7 oz. jar is priced at $125, about $20 less than the night cream

ModiFace launches forecasting tool: Toronto-based virtual makeover firm introduces ShadeCast, a makeup sampling and forecasting tool based on behavioral tracking. ShadeCast is used in conjunction with iPhone application MakeUp, which allows consumers to virtually try on makeup in hundreds of shades from brands including Revlon, Cover Girl, Lancome and Clinique. ShadeCast offers 1,000 cosmetic shades from 40 brands and assigns a ShadeScore "to approximately position the [app's] hottest and most sampled color." ModiFace exec Nikkie Gatto likens the app to radio music playlists, helping consumers "looking to capture the current look, but also provide vital market intelligence to our retail channel partners," she says in Nov. 3 release. "The value of data to demonstrate the aggregate behavior will help the industry predict the latest trends and help cosmetic manufacturers better understand the color and products which most resonate with online and iPhone virtual makeover users," the company says
