Executive Summary

Douglas Toews to exec VP-images and ideas, responsible for the creative direction of Coty. In the "first of its kind" executive position, Toews will "define and shape Coty's public image" by overseeing public relations, as well as defining the Coty and Lancaster brands through product concept, packaging, advertising and point-of-sale activities. He will also identify new trends and technologies. Toews comes to Coty with a plethora of creative experience, having most recently served as senior VP and group creative director at McCann Erickson, where he led the L'Oreal cosmetics and hair care account. He also has developed campaigns for Vidal Sassoon, Shiseido, Coca-Cola and Levi Strauss. The appointment may be in anticipation of Coty's public offering, which is said to be expected by 2000
