Clairol Herbal Essences sales jumped 60% to $561 mil. in 1998, putting the brand in the number two position in the shampoo/conditioner category, Bristol-Myers Squibb announced Jan. 20. The Herbal Essences brand also commands a leadership position in body washes; the brand is third in the category following the launch of Herbal Essences Body Wash in 1997.
