Executive Summary
Senate passes $1.18 bil. in FDA FY 2000 funding as part of $68.1 bil. Agriculture appropriations bill by voice vote Aug. 4. Under the bill (S 1233), The Center for Food Safety & Applied Nutrition, which includes the Office of Cosmetics & Colors in funding, will receive $264.8 mil., while the Center for Drug Evaluation & Research receives $309 mil. The allocations fall below both the House and the Clinton Administration requests to allocate $266 mil. to CFSAN and $316.8 mil. to CDER
