Sephora Suing Macy's West For Trade Infringement In Stand-Alone Doors

Executive Summary

The French specialty retailer Sephora alleges Federated Department Stores, and specifically its Macy's West subsidiary, "intentionally and systematically copied the design and look of Sephora's stores," in a trade dress suit filed in San Francisco federal court Aug. 11. The Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton company is further charging Federated with false destination of origin, and unfair and unlawful business practices.
