Executive Summary

Ethnic marketer is exploring "strategic alternatives" for its South African business, Carson Holdings, following authorization from the company's board. Carson owns a 52.6% stake in Carson Holdings, which is traded on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange; the remaining stock is publicly held. The South African business has been a major revenue generator for the company. Sales in 1998 were $39.2 mil.
