Executive Summary
Harmonization among Latin American countries (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela) are the subject of third Summit of Americas Health Authorities in Lima, Peru in June. The second meeting created the Cosmetics Associations Council to harmonize regulations among member countries. CAC has taken "large steps" forward with broadened trade and regional integration, ANDI Exec Director Jaime Concha Prada states. Principles developed include product market notification, in-market control and adoption of the European cosmetics definition. Areas still under consideration include sanitary regulations and technology transfers
