Yves Saint Laurent launches new Kouros men's fragrance exclusively at Macy's June 1. Body Kouros is "man's perfect match," the company says, with a scent that is "both subtle and forceful giving way to a lingering reassuring sweetness." The fragrance opens with notes of incense and eucalyptus, leading to a heart of Chinese cedar and mace, and drying to camphor wood and benzoin. The Body Kouros collection includes two edt sprays - a 3.3 oz. bottle for $57 and a 1.6 oz. for $43. Two aftershave lotions will be available for $39 and $28, while an 8.4 oz. hair and body wash is priced at $21. A relaxing body gel (8.4 oz.) and deodorant stick (2.6 oz.) will cost $27 and $17, respectively

ModiFace launches forecasting tool: Toronto-based virtual makeover firm introduces ShadeCast, a makeup sampling and forecasting tool based on behavioral tracking. ShadeCast is used in conjunction with iPhone application MakeUp, which allows consumers to virtually try on makeup in hundreds of shades from brands including Revlon, Cover Girl, Lancome and Clinique. ShadeCast offers 1,000 cosmetic shades from 40 brands and assigns a ShadeScore "to approximately position the [app's] hottest and most sampled color." ModiFace exec Nikkie Gatto likens the app to radio music playlists, helping consumers "looking to capture the current look, but also provide vital market intelligence to our retail channel partners," she says in Nov. 3 release. "The value of data to demonstrate the aggregate behavior will help the industry predict the latest trends and help cosmetic manufacturers better understand the color and products which most resonate with online and iPhone virtual makeover users," the company says
