Colgate/Nestle oral care deal

Colgate-Palmolive will obtain wider distribution of its Colgate Dental Gum in confectionery sales channels through an agreement with Nestle announced June 16. Under the arrangement, both firms' sales forces will jointly market the product starting next month. Colgate Dental Gum has entered test markets in Canada, the UK and Ireland in September 2001 (1"The Rose Sheet" Sept. 17, 2001, In Brief). The companies describe the agreement as enabling them to "pursue on a worldwide basis the development, marketing, distribution and sales of a portfolio of portable oral care products...[that] are sold alongside traditional confectionery items, taste good, clean teeth and freshen breath"...
