Executive Summary

Statistically significant improvement in wrinkling is visible after vitamin C solution is topically applied to skin for 12 weeks, Richard Fitzpatrick, MD, et al. conclude in study published in the March issue of Dermatologic Surgery. Double-blind study included 10 patients, who were treated with a vitamin C complex formulated with 10% ascorbic acid, 7% tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate and an anhydrous polysilicone gel base on one side of the face and an inactive polysilicone gel base on the other. Patients were evaluated at onset and at four, eight and 12 weeks for wrinkling, pigmentation, inflammation and hydration, study says.
