All hairspray products sold in California must meet California Air Resources Board voluntary organic compound standards after June 1, state agency reminds industry in an advisory memorandum. Sell-through grace period for hairsprays expires on that date. Manufacturers should "make reasonable efforts" to notify distributors if they may have non-complying hairspray in stock, agency adds.
