Sales growth in second half expected to pick up due to favorable comparison and stronger marketing plan, particularly in the Perfume Distribution division, French beauty firm says in 1first-half sales announcement Aug. 5. Weak marketing program in Perfume Distribution in first six months compared to 2001 period contributed to 9.8% decline in division sales at average exchange rates. Perfume Distribution sales were $35.9 mil. (€1=$.96). Clarins brand sales were flat at $266.5 mil. for the half, while Thierry Mugler sales advanced 16.3% to $78.2 mil. and Azzaro sales increased 8.8% to $45.6 mil.
