Direct-seller will realign North American manufacturing operations, phasing out company's Montreal-based manufacturing facility by first quarter 2004, Avon announces Jan. 22. Production will be transferred to Avon's facilities in Springdale, Ohio and Morton Grove, Ill., firm adds. Closure will result in elimination of 150 positions by the end of the year, however, realignment will not impact Avon's direct-sell operations in Canada, which employs 950 associates and supports 71,000 sales representatives.
