LANCASTER ESPRIT WOMEN's SCENT FIRST PROJECT UNDER LICENSING AGREEMENT between fragrance giant and Lancaster parent Coty, Inc. and the clothing and accessories retailer. The joint agreement, announced by the firms Feb. 25, will create "a very long and intimate relationship" likely to result in numerous fragrance and color cosmetic launches around the world, Coty, Inc. Chairman and CEO Peter Harf said at a press event on the deal. First up will be the international launch of Esprit, scheduled for spring 2000 in prestige doors. Coty then hopes to introduce men's and children's Esprit-inspired fragrance, as well as a number of other flanker scents, the company said. Color cosmetics likely will follow on a country-by-country basis.
