Executive Summary
Three updated microbiology guidelines have been revised and updated, the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association announces June 18. "Microbiological Assessment of Product Quality after Use" highlights the importance of testing "atypical cosmetic products," such as anhydrous gels, waxed based sticks and loose and pressed powders, for microbiological integrity or susceptibility to contamination. "Microbiological Evaluation of the Plant Environment" outlines an environmental assessment program for manufacturing facilities, and "Microbiology Laboratory Audit" provides guidance on evaluating in-house and contract laboratory practices.
