Executive Summary
Center for Food Safety & Applied Nutrition would receive $446.7 mil. in funding under the FY 2004 Agriculture appropriations bill, passed by the House July 13. Center for Drug Evaluation & Research is allotted $499 mil., with an additional $500,000 to come from funding removed from the Office of the Commissioner under an amendment introduced by Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-N.Y.). Amendment is intended to cut the budget of the FDA Chief Counsel's office while enhancing CDER's Division of Drug Marketing, Advertising & Communications.
