BeautiControl will license alpha hydroxy acid technology from NeoStrata subsidiary TriStrata under a settlement agreement announced Sept. 28. TriStrata filed a lawsuit in Wilmington, Del. federal court alleging direct-seller infringed firm's AHA patent for the reduction of wrinkles and treatment of signs of aging. Company also has lawsuits pending against Valeant Pharmaceuticals and Mary Kay Cosmetics. TriStrata pursued litigation against a number of companies, including Chanel, Clarins and L'Oréal, beginning in 1996, when it discovered the firms were allegedly using its AHA technology without a licensing agreement...
