Executive Summary

The Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association is requesting comments on a new Safety Evaluation Guideline on in vitro test methods for evaluating skin absorption; comments are due by Sept. 25. The association's guidelines "provide manufacturers with guidance regarding the use of preclinical and clinical safety testing as a means to substantiate the safety of both ingredients and finished cosmetic products."
