Bath & Body Works surpassed $2.5 bil. in annual sales for 2006, Limited Brands announced in a March 1 earnings call on its Q4 2006 and full-year results. Victoria's Secret went beyond $5 bil. in sales for 2006, as net sales for the company reached $10.67 bil. for the year. Sales at Bath & Body Works increased 14% over the prior-year-period to reach $1.18 bil. Sales for the quarter were driven by the Signature Collection, antibacterial soaps, gift items and seasonal products, firm says. The company plans to open 55 new B&BW stores in 2007, said Martyn Redgrave, executive VP and chief administrative officer of Limited Brands. Sales at Victoria's Secret doors for Q4 2006 increased to $1.86 bil., up 18% compared to the prior-year-period. The figure is based on gains in all segments, including beauty, PINK and the core lingerie business, while the Beauty Rush color line and Dream Angels Desire fragrance "exceeded expectations," according to VS CEO Sharen Turney...
