Executive Summary
Sales for the first quarter of fiscal year 2007 were up 20% over the prior-year period to $85.2 mil., Inter Parfums reports April 19. U.S. sales increased 19% to $9.6 mil. on the continued success of the Banana Republic bath, body and fragrance products. In May, more than 70 new bath and body products will debut in more than 150 Gap Body stores nationwide; a new Gap eau de toilette line will follow in Q3. The new products are scheduled to roll out to stores in late summer, continuing through the remainder of the year. In Europe, sales jumped 20% to $75.6 mil. on growth in all the major brands, as well as on the success of the Van Cleef & Arpels fragrances, which the firm officially took over on board Jan. 1...
