Executive Summary
The European Commission announces the launch of an information campaign recommending ways consumers can enjoy the sun while lowering their risk of overexposure. The EC makes suggestions for self-protection, complete with illustrative graphics downloadable for display at points of sale, such as: "Avoid excessive sun exposure at peak hours"; "Keep yourself well-covered, including hat, T-shirt and sunglasses"; and "Avoid direct sun exposure for babies and young children." The campaign also instructs consumers to use sunscreen products correctly - namely by using them generously and reapplying often.
