Firm's net sales rose 27.9% to $33.9 mil. in fourth quarter of fiscal 2007, Physicians Formula reports in March 10 release. "I am very pleased with the strong fourth quarter demand for our existing product line as well as the successful sell-in of the new 2008 products," CEO and Chairwoman Ingrid Jackel states. "In December, we began shipping our new products which include an extension of our successful Mineral Wear line, a rejuvenation of our eye makeup category and our new Organic Wear line, which we believe will be a strong growth platform going forward." Jackel was appointed chairwoman January 29. For the full year, net sales reached $111.5 mil., a 16.9% increase compared with the prior-year period. Physicians Formula will increase marketing spend in the first half of 2008 for its Organic Wear line. Softness in consumer spending in the beauty industry has affected company's outlook for 2008; it now expects net sales of $123 mil. to $125 mil., an increase of 10% to 12% versus fiscal 2007...
