Executive Summary
2008 HBA Global Expo educational program will feature 52 sessions on the latest personal-care trends, research and technological advancements, conference organizers announce. Sessions will be organized into three tracks: technical innovation, marketing leadership, and naturals. Conference speakers include Liliana George, Ph.D., executive director of strategic developments for The Estee Lauder Companies, and Steve Page, Ph.D., laboratory manager for Procter & Gamble. In addition, HBA will present third annual International Safety Regulatory and Certification Summit, with special focus on understanding organic certification schemes and regulatory approach to "beauty-on-the-inside" products. HBA also will offer two intensive training workshops - "Skin Absorption Technology" and "REACH: Two Months and Counting." Event will take place Sept. 9-11. New Origins prez: Jane Lauder, Clinique's senior VP-global marketing since July 2006, will begin July 1 as VP, general manager of Estee Lauder's natural-based Origins unit. A former VP at BeautyBank responsible for creation and launch of American Beauty and Flirt! brands, Jane Lauder was "instrumental" in such Clinique successes as Acne Solutions and Almost Powder Makeup - which were driven by innovative multi-media marketing and distribution, parent company notes - as well as Clinique's February debut on QVC, which broke the channel's previous sales records.
