Global sales for first nine months totaled $38.59 bil. in fiscal 2008, an increase of 7.4% at constant exchange rates, firm says Oct. 30. Despite price increases undertaken to offset costs, sales volume has "held up well," according to Unilever. Firm records $13.25 bil. in global sales in third quarter. Unilever's personal-care division grows 8% in Q3, driven by double-digit growth of global deodorant brands Rexona, Axe and Dove. In the Americas, sales rose 8.2% in the quarter to $4.27 bil., including 4% growth in U.S. Vaseline for Men products launched in U.S. during the quarter, alongside Vaseline Clinical Therapy items.
