Study supports RF skin rejuvenation

This article was originally published in The Rose Sheet

Executive Summary

In vitro study led by Dr. Sylvie Boisnic, director of laboratory research at Paris-based GREDECO, and published in Journal of Dermatological Treatment, suggests the TriPollar STOP home-use device "significantly increase[s] collagen remodeling" to furnish anti-aging benefits, according to May 10 release. Developed by Ultragen, a division of Israeli firm Pollogen Ltd., and based on professional radiofrequency technology, STOP increased collagen synthesis by 41% in treated human skin samples versus control samples, investigators say. Boisnic notes that "results were most prominent on the superficial to mid-dermis where collagen depletion due to aging and photodamage presents the appearance of rhytids and wrinkles." Firm claims that 12 to 15 minutes of STOP use two to three times per week for six to eight weeks "will significantly reduce facial wrinkles and fine lines." Device is sold online for roughly $365 (€290). Firm also offers the POSE skin-tightening device
