Rejuvenation Labs’ Resvology Features “Unique” Resveratrol Molecule

This article was originally published in The Rose Sheet

Executive Summary

Featuring a patented, stabilized ester form of resveratrol, the new Resvology line from Rejuvenation Labs helps to keep skin acting and looking younger, the firm says. Resvology is rolling out to specialty stores in the first quarter of 2013, with price points ranging from $29 to $129.

Midvale, Utah-based Rejuvenation Labs introduces an anti-aging skin-care line that activates key genes using what it claims is the first stabilized form of resveratryl acetate.

Called Resvology, the line is built on the 4-AR Molecule, “a uniquely stabilized ester form of the widely recognized ‘youth molecule’ resveratrol,” the firm says in a release.

Discovered by cancer researchers at Brigham Young University, 4-AR has been shown to increase gene activity for targeted results, stimulating the production of proteins and enzymes linked to cell regeneration, according to Rejuvenation.

CEO Kevin Passey states: “The discovery of the 4-AR molecule has improved our understanding of the skin’s aging process and how it can look and feel more youthful.”

In vitro studies have shown the molecule increases the gene activity of “longevity protein” SIRT1 by 330%, ups the presence of antioxidant agents metallothionein 1 and metallothionein 2 by 6,400% and 340%, respectively, and boosts anti-wrinkle gene procollagen III by 220%, according to the company.

In clinical trials, the firm adds, “consumers have reported that Resvology hydrated skin, removed fine lines and wrinkles and minimized puffiness and dark circles around the eyes.”

Overall, the 4-AR molecule in each Resvology product helps to keep skin acting and looking younger, Rejuvenation asserts.

The Resvology collection is made up of Age Corrective Wrinkle Treatment ($129), Age Corrective Eye Cream ($89) and Gentle Cleansing Gel ($29). The three products “work together to hydrate and smooth skin texture and reduce signs of aging, helping keep skin looking firm, lifted and youthful,” according to the company.

The products will roll out to specialty stores later in the first quarter of 2013.

Rejuvenation plans to extend the line with three additional SKUs slated for a spring launch under the Age Corrective banner – a day moisturizer with SPF, a CC cream with SPF and a brightening serum.

The firm formally debuted the line at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, on Jan. 17, sponsoring the opening night party for the film "Who is Dayani Cristal?" and participating in the festival’s style lounge, which drew a number of celebrities.

Sundance was a fitting partnership for Rejuvenation as the 4-AR molecule was discovered in a lab nearby “and we wanted to have the products unveiled during one of the most anticipated times in our city,” Passey says.

Rejuvenation Labs was founded in 2007, with the goal of developing and marketing “biotech products in the cosmetic, contract manufacturing and nutritional supplements industries,” according to its website.
