Trudeau seeks investigation

A federal and state investigation of the New York Consumer Protection Board is needed following the recent arrest of its Deputy Director for possession of crack cocaine, supplement marketer Kevin Trudeau maintains. The arrest of Caroline Quartararo "may help to explain the strange and erratic behavior of this renegade government agency," he states in a Jan. 5 release. He will contact the New York Attorney General's Office to ask for a full investigation of the agency. Trudeau, who authored the book Natural Cures They Don't Want You to Know About, filed a lawsuit in August following the group's consumer warning that the book was misleading (1"The Tan Sheet" Aug. 15, 2005, In Brief). He says a federal judge determined in 2005 that CPB had violated his First Amendment rights.
