A June 8-9 leadership training session designed to help states create community Meth Watch programs was attended by retail representatives, state government and law enforcement officials from 18 states, the Consumer Healthcare Products Association announces. The CHPA-sponsored session brought retailers and state law enforcement officials together to learn to deter the theft or suspicious sale of pseudoephedrine- and ephedrine-containing OTCs used to illegally manufacture methamphetamine. Speakers included leaders from the already existing Kansas program and representatives from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.
