Executive Summary
Online drugstore is offering a line of reduced-price store brand OTCs. Some 300 Rx.com products, manufactured by private labelers Perrigo and Leiner, are available now, and the site plans to have roughly 600 products by the end of 2000. The items sell for 40% less than retail brand name drugs and are available in 10 categories, including analgesics, herbals and supplements, vitamins and minerals and women's health. The introduction of the Rx.com line follows a similar move into private labels by drugstore.com (1"The Tan Sheet" Aug. 30, 1999, p. 8)
