Stevia petition denied
FDA denies a citizen petition asking the agency to seize foods with stevia-derived ingredients, noting that citizen petitions cannot request enforcement action. The October 2008 petition, submitted by Washington law firm Coburn & Coffman, was 1denied about three months after submission, but was posted on FDA's docket Dec. 9.
